OmniFile Privacy Policy

Zero cloud data transmission. OmniFile does not upload, sync, back up, mirror or transmit your files, file names, file contents, thumbnails, previews or extracted text to any server, including our own. Every conversion, compression, repair, extraction and preview runs inside the app on your device using engines bundled with the app or downloaded once from Google Play. There is no OmniFile server that could receive your files. Airplane mode does not change how the app processes files.

1. Your files

Files you select are read from your device through the Android system picker, processed locally, and the results are written back to your device (Downloads/OmniFile or a folder you choose).
Temporary working copies are kept in the app's private cache during a job and deleted when it finishes or when the app next starts.
When you enable "Remove location and camera metadata", EXIF data is stripped from the output image on-device. We never read, store or transmit that metadata.
The Private Vault (Pro) encrypts files with AES-256-GCM using a key stored in your device's hardware keystore. Vault contents are excluded from Android backups and cannot be recovered on another device.
The app requests the INTERNET permission solely for the services listed in section 2 and section 3. The file-processing code paths have no network access.

2. Data we do collect

To keep the app working well we use the following services. None of them receive your files, file names, file contents or anything derived from them.

Google Play Billing	Purchase state for OmniFile Pro (subscription or lifetime).	Unlocking Pro. Handled by Google Play; we never see payment details.
Google Play Feature Delivery	A request to download the optional media, PDF or archive engine.	Installing processing engines the first time they are needed. The download is code, not your files.
Google Play In-App Review	A request to show Google's rating dialog, at most once every 30 days and only after a job succeeds.	Collecting ratings. Whether the dialog appears, and what you rate, is handled entirely by Google Play.

3. Advertising (free tier only)

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. Ads appear in three places only: a banner at the bottom of the home screen, a full-screen ad after a job has finished (never before or during setup, and never more than once every 45 seconds), and an optional rewarded video that you choose to watch to unlock unlimited batch processing for the current session.

Before any ad is requested we ask for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform where required by law (GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, LGPD in Brazil, and other regional regimes). You can change your choice at any time via Settings → Privacy options (ads consent).

Ad networks may process your advertising ID, IP address, coarse location and device information to serve and measure ads, as described in their own policies. They never receive your files or file names. Networks that may serve ads in OmniFile:

Our seller declaration is published at /app-ads.txt. OmniFile Pro removes all advertising.

4. Permissions

Files: you choose files through the Android system picker, which grants access to that file only. OmniFile does not request the photo, video or audio library permissions and never scans your library.
Notifications: to show progress for jobs running in the background.
Biometrics: to unlock the Private Vault. Biometric data never leaves the device's secure hardware and is never accessible to the app.
Internet: used only for ads and consent, crash reports, analytics, billing, in-app review and engine downloads. Never for your files.

5. Data retention

We retain nothing about your files because we never receive them. Crash and analytics data is retained by Google under its Firebase data-retention settings (crash data 90 days; analytics events up to 14 months) and is not linked to your identity by us.

6. Children

OmniFile is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Ad requests are tagged as not child-directed and limited to a "T" (teen) maximum content rating.

7. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you on our servers, there is nothing for us to export or delete. To remove analytics data associated with your device, uninstall the app or disable usage statistics in Settings. For advertising data requests, use the privacy controls of the network concerned (links above) or withdraw consent in Settings → Privacy options.

South African users: BlueRockets (Pty) Ltd is a responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Our Information Officer can be reached at the address below. EEA/UK users may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

8. Changes

We will update this page and the effective date if our practices change. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
